Hampton is a traditional agricultural estate located between Guildford and Farnham on the southern slopes of the
Hogs Back. It lies within the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The core of the estate is centred around Hampton Lodge, a Grade II listed Georgian house set in rolling parkland,
reputedly designed by Repton, in the late 18th Century.
The traditional enterprises of farming and forestry account for the majority of the 2250 acres. Farming includes the
growing of baby leaf salad vegetables, arable production (wheat, barley and rape) and the last commercially run hop
garden in Surrey. Our pedigree herd of Sussex Cattle is the mainstay of Hampton Naturally Reared Produce,
which also include pheasant and venison in season together with sausages and steak pies after season. All produce is sold directly from the estate.
The Hampton Estate enterprises also includes commercial property lettings and residential property lettings from
the estate housing stock. Attractive chalkstone cottages and redeveloped traditional farm buildings are often available
to rent.
The woodlands and commercial timber plantations are managed for both production and amenity value. The forestry products include chestnut fencing posts, firewood, logs and woodchip for use as timber fuel or for recreational surfaces.
The Hampton Estate is family owned and managed and the other estate activities reflect the whole family’s wide
interests. Charity events, filming locations, open access, wedding venues and dog trials are just some of the varied
activities which take place throughout the year. |
